Apprentice Dispensing Assistant Intermediate Level 2 (GCSE)

The Leeds Road Practice has an exciting opportunity within our dispensing team for a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant apprentice. You will be supporting the delivery of pharmacy services.

Patient care is at the heart of everything we do, and this role is an important responsibility. We will train and develop you into a confident team member who can provide excellent patient service in GP dispensary environment.

Key accountabilities:

• Dispensing prescriptions
• Using dispensary computer systems to generate stock lists and labels
• Helping to maintain reasonable dispensary stock levels
• Receiving, loading, unloading incoming goods from wholesalers, manufacturers and elsewhere

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

• Level 2 Pharmacy Assistant Apprenticeship Standard
• General Pharmaceutical Council
• Functional Skills maths and English Level 1 and/or Level 2, as appropriate
• Training will take place at the workplace – no need to travel to a college

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

• Potential for you to progress to a permanent position after completion of the apprenticeship and to complete further qualifications such as  Accuracy Checking Dispenser or Pharmacy Technician
