Apprentice Fabricator Welder

Flatford Ltd in York have the opportunity for an Apprentice Fabricator Welder to join their team of skilled engineers.

Day to day duties include:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Assemble components by welding them together
• Ensure finished welds are of a good standard and the required size
• Use a variety of tools, welding equipment and overhead travelling cranes
• Layout, position and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications & drawings
• Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies using MIG, TIG & MMA
• Conduct inspection and quality of products
• Cutting of materials and assembly of products
• Loading and unloading of products

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will complete the following elements:

• Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (including a range of Level 2 Practical units)
• Portfolio of Evidence (Workplace Qualification)
• Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and/or English (if required)
• Pass an End-Point Assessment

Qualification: Level 3 Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship Standard

You will attend Derwent Training in Malton one day a week to complete the Technical Qualifications as part of the Apprenticeship.

In return, subject to satisfactory progress, Flatford Ltd offer a full time position.
