A rare opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Information Communications Technician, based at Egglescliffe School but covering local trust schools. To work as part of a team providing an efficient and effective ICT technical support to learners, staff and visitors.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

To provide first line technical support for ICT equipment, systems and applications
To ensure issues are addressed, documented, escalated or resolved in a timely and professional manner
To maintain & repair ICT and Audio-Visual equipment in the school, keeping it in a safe, clean and serviceable condition, within the limits of relevant training courses and with suitable access to equipment and parts
To support staff and learners in the correct use of ICT and Audio Visual (AV) equipment, setting up, dismantling and operating equipment as required specified by line manager
To assist in maintaining and updating the school’s ICT hardware and software under direction of the line manager
To liaise with external agencies as required regarding the repair/replacement of ICT and AV equipment
To develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments in ICT, network technology; related hardware and software
To implement and maintain the user accounts for staff and learners across school systems, this may include training and promoting the use of such systems with staff
Carry out morning and afternoon routines and inspections of ICT equipment across the school as specified by line manager
To undertake research/testing compatibility of any new hardware or software, updates or changes prior to purchase and installation
To monitor, track and respond to a range of system notifications and alerts
To proactively react and to liaise with the relevant parties, such as line manager, external agencies or the schools dedicated safeguarding lead(s)
To maintain manual and computerised systems including inputting data, keeping records, and general filing systems as directed
To study towards and complete the Level 3 qualification offered by the apprenticeship provider
