Apprentice Laboratory Technician

Thomas Hardy Burtonwood Ltd are looking for an apprentice who will be trained in chemical and microbiological practices and quality management systems.

• Carry out accurate analysis of bulk beers, ciders and fruit wine on delivery, through processing and packing to ensure all food safety, quality and legal testing standards are met.
• Timely and accurate analysis of blended product such as Alcopops or Tonic Water which are required for processing or production.
• Accurate calculation of all blending materials used in the manufacturing process.
• Perform quality audits in the bottling hall including quality control verification checks using Customer supplied specifications.
• Ensure that all samples taken from the production lines are correct, meet all customer and internal requirements and are recorded correctly.
• Accurately record all results on the company database.
• Carry out microbiological analysis of intermediate and packaged products

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

1 day per week release into Warrington and Vale Royal College – Warrington campus to work towards the Level 3 Lab Technician Apprenticeship

HNC in Quality Management – train to be a future Quality Manager
