AGI Global Logistics is one of the fastest growing logistics and freight forwarding companies in the UK. Duties will include checking through commercial paperwork before arranging shipments, arranging bookings through our bespoke in-house software (courier, domestic, road, air & sea bookings)

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

Answer the phone in a professional manor and provide to all customer and supplier needs
Provide support to the rest of the operations team and other colleagues across the business where they need assistance
Check through commercial paperwork before arranging shipments
Arranging bookings through our bespoke in-house software (courier, domestic, road, air & sea bookings)
Manage all shipments and jobs including, but not limited to, checking collections & deliveries and providing regular updates to customers
Raise any issues with shipments to your line manager and communicate any delays or concerns with clear updates and solutions where required to customers
Complete chamber work (COO, EUR1, Carnets)
Book insurance
Complete letter of credits
Report any non-compliances to your line manager
Complete basic customs entries
Ensure sales invoicing is completed and in a timely manner
Ensure all emails are responded to in a timely manner and manage any team inboxes as required

General Responsibilities:

Work effectively with your colleagues and other departments and
AGI branches to provide outstanding customer service to both customers and colleagues
Identify, and with line manager, action own training and development needs
Actively participate in one-to-one review meetings, coaching and training as required by your line manager
Meet agreed targets and performance goals
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the company portfolio of products and services
Carry out such duties that may reasonably be required to ensure the smooth running of the organisation

Skills and experience required for this role:

Previous experience in an operation role for a freight forwarding company
Outstanding communication and customer service skills
The ability to develop and build strong and personable relationships over the phone and in person with a broad range of individuals
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a strong team player
Accountability to yourself and others
Extremely organised with a high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work well under pressure and able to work to tight deadlines
High IT literacy skills and competence with Microsoft office packages
An open and honest approach to all things
Flexibility and an ability to adapt to change

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 International Freight Forwarding Specialist
Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English if required
