The successful applicant will receive first-hand bespoke training and exposure from our expert team. As a dispenser you will find, prepare and issue prescriptions for patients.

Fantastic! I have an amazing prospect for someone enthusiastic to join our lovely team at New Coningsby Surgery in Lincolnshire as a Pharmacy Dispenser Apprentice.

The successful applicant will receive first-hand bespoke training and exposure from our expert team. This post is to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis for a minimum of 18 months.

As a Pharmacy Dispenser Assistant Apprentice you will be a most diligent person. You will:

• Find and prepare and issue prescriptions for patients
• You will need to accurately issue the right medication, the right dose, to the right patient
• You will receive and log prescriptions, make and take calls, deal with queries, and update patient records, thus, communicating effectively with the public, carers and other health and social care professionals to determine their needs and keep the information confidential..
• You will also undertake the ordering, receiving, and maintaining of pharmaceutical stock, as well as complete the end-of-month stock audit

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

• Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/pharmacy-services-assistant-v1-0)
• Functional Skills Level 2 in English & maths if not exempt
• BTEC Level 2 in the Practice & Principles for Pharmacy Support Staff

Please note that the apprenticeship standards require the apprentice to sit an End Point Assessment. Please refer to above link for more information.

This apprenticeship is all delivered in the workplace. Instead of attending college one day per week you will be given minimum 6 hours per week off the job training to complete the apprenticeship work you have been set to do.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
