Jenny and I set up the restaurant after the first lock down. We lost our jobs in the industry due to Covid and with nothing to do or no direction we decided to work for ourselves. The Barn has been a labour of love trying to bring an old unloved barn restaurant back up to scratch. Naturally we had the time due to the various lockdowns but the risk was greater every month trying to open and getting locked down again. We have been fully open from May 2020 and in which time we have won a Taste of the West Gold award for the restaurant and food. Everything is made in house from, ice cream, breads, pastas and chutneys so any aspiring chef will have the opportunity to explore their culinary desires.
